Driving traffic to your landing page – it sounds easy,
doesn't it? Well, it's not. And no matter how great your
landing page is, it wont matter if no one ever reads it.
Furthermore, if everyone in the world other than your
target audience reads it, it also wont matter. This is why
you need to find media through which you can drive
"targeted" visitors to your landing page.

One way in which you can drive "targeted" traffic to your
landing page is through natural search engine optimization.
This is the slowest process but, it is also one of the
best ways to ensure a continually-increasing stream of
traffic over time.

Generating natural search engine traffic generally entails
getting links to your site from content relevent sites.
While reciprocal linking was once the best strategy, some
experts now believe that major search engines are devaluing
reciprocal links in favor of one-way links and triangular
links (which search engines can't really detect as
reciprocal).

Another way in which to get natural search engine traffic
is by optimizing your website for certain keywords and
keyphrases. You can do this by creating pages that

Here is another option: human connections. Now, this is
where most Internet marketers fail. They don't realize the
power of human connections because they are so caught up in
the idea of making transactions and collecting massive
checks without having to deal with customers and clients.

One quick way to get traffic through human connections is a
joint venture. You can enter into a joint venture by
compiling a list of possible “partners” -- or people who
might be able to assist you in some mutually-beneficial
way. This list might include other list owners in your
niche, site owners in your niche, and known experts in your
niche.

There's only one important thing you should keep in mind
when contacting joint venture partners – and that is to
make it as quick, easy, and beneficial for them as
possible. If they have no incentive for doing it, they
probably wont even reply to you and if it isn't easy,

Another way in which you can drive traffic to your landing
page is through blog and forum posting however, it is
important that you do not spam, as many businesses do.
Instead, actually participate on the forum, provide people
with something of value and, after a while, post your
product in your signature – and try to network with people
on the forum who work in similar fields.

Your approach to blog posting should be similar. Include a
signature file that links back to your landing page, but
don't spam. Instead, post useful comments. This is not
only more ethical, but it is plainly more effective. Spam
gets deleted. Good comments get praised, enticing people
to follow your link and check out your websites.

what interests people on the forum, what they talk about,
and what they spend most of their time doing.

Additionally, spend the time to actually interact with
people posting on the various forums you are reading. Let
people get to know who you are and what you plan to do.
After you've been a part of the community for a while,
consider putting up a link in your signature.

Additionally, if they have a section in which you can sell
things, consider posting some of your products as a
discount to bring people back to your site.

Regardless of what you do on the forum in terms of selling
and promotion, your ultimate goals should be to make
contacts, to promote your brand, and to drive traffic to
your site. All of these will come in time if you take an
honest approach, rather than putting your site and your
sales above all else.

SEO

Building natural search engine traffic for “low hanging
fruit” is akin to building an asset. You are simply
creating pages that have little competition, which upon
being indexed, will immediately take the first, second, or
third slot for their given keyword.

Traffic Generation Tip #2: Use Viral Promotion

At least once every two months, creating some type of viral
product to generate more traffic for your site. This can be
a piece of software, a PDF, an audio recording, a video, or
an ebook. Whatever you select, make sure you make people
want to distribute it for free – and make sure it has built
in ways to bring people back to your site.

Traffic Generation Tip #3: Consider Legitimate Link
Exchanges

Link exchanges only work if you do them with sites that get
a lot of traffic and have high PR – and if you exchange them

a forum or an automatic “favorites” pop-up. And let's say
that you are able to effectively recycle 70% of your

Some of the most popular files formats that are available
for media files these days can be read online without
having to wait to download a large file. There are numerous
online streaming media formats to choose from on various
different websites. These include online streaming media
formats for audio files and videos that can be viewed
online. All of these formats will be better for certain
types of computers and connections though.

The first type of online streaming media formats is that of
the Windows Media format. Established by Microsoft, this
format is generally capable of being read by Microsoft
Media Player programs. Windows Media Audio is the top
format that is used for audio programs, while Windows Media
Video can be used for streaming video formats.

Apple’s QuickTime format is another of the top online
streaming media formats. Files that can be read on
QuickTime can be easily streamed online. This includes both
video and audio files. An ActiveX control will be needed for
a website or other online service to be able to play the
file for streaming. It does take a bit to load a typical
file under this format though, but there will be no
interruptions in stream under the QuickTime format, and the
data will not be saved onto the hard drive as a standalone

The MPEG file format, or Moving Picture Experts Group
format, is one of the most notable online streaming media
formats for video files. There are three different formats
in the MPEG system. MPEG-1 is a standard compression format
for video files, while MPEG-2 can be used for ATSC, ISDB and
digital satellite and cable transmission. MPEG-4 is the best
quality format and it is used to support three dimensional
content and low bit rate levels.

Of course, MP3 files can be streamed online. This is
especially popular among websites that use higher levels of
information. The bit rate of the file will make a difference
in the quality of the sounds and the speed of the download.
The number of kilobits per second is commonly used in
streaming MP3 formats. For instance, a 56kbps file will be
best for a 56K modem. A 128kbps file will be better for DSL

course, some of them will have more data to download and
will have different quality levels, so it is best to
consider the speed of the Internet connection when looking

that there are different formats for different types of
computers to use.

In order for this to happen, your writing needs to
provide answers so that the visitor knows exactly what
they are looking for.

What is important when writing any copy for the
internet is that you reassure any visitors that they
are in the right place, and that they should continue
to read on.

Carefully Managing Your Traffic

If you fail to plan, then you are likely to fail in
your endeavor of producing great copy. If you wish to
achieve your goals, it is important to gather all the
facts.

First, you should anticipate the users’ of your sites
questions. Normally, there are four questions that a
user will have that will need to be answered.

1. What am I doing here?
2. How do I do it?
3. What is in it for me?
4. Where do I go from here?

So, if your site’s design and navigation can not
provide an obvious answer to these questions then, you
need to look at using copy in order to explain them.
It is important that the answers to these questions
should be obvious to all your users, and not just
those visiting your site for the first time. What is
important to remember is that half the visitors to a
site will not bother to try working things out for
themselves, and the other half may not even succeed.

Next, when planning, focus on your core audience.
Remember, you will not be able to reach everyone, so
make sure that the copy you produce addresses your
site’s most important visitors directly. So, spend
time explaining what the site can do for them in
particular. If you want to make it more effective,
then do not use words which would only be looked at
by people you do not need.

However, if you are targeting more than one type of
visitor to your site, then make sure that you can
direct them to different pages. What you should
remember is that a visitor will go somewhere else if
they do not feel your site has something of value to
offer to them in particular.

So, when providing them with facts, let the facts speak
for themselves. It is important that you make your
descriptions compelling, although not excessive. Many
visitors to sites will skip a site if they feel it is
too full of hype (just bear in mind that some hype
will almost certainly be necessary in order to excite
your visitor).

At last, you have found your target audience, and now
you must develop a strategy for writing your copy. In
order to do this, the best way is to do the following:

1. In the first part, write about what exactly the
customer wants.

2. The tone in how your writing sounds to those that
you are targeting. The attitude that you’re projecting
through your words.

3. When executing your copy it is important that you
are able to present your ideas to them in an easy to
understand way.

What is most important is that you think about all
three of these things in equal amounts, and do not
allow any one of them to overshadow the others.

The CAN-SPAM Act was implemented in the United States
to protect the privacy of consumers on January 1st of
2004. CAN-SPAM is short for Controlling the Assault of
Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act. The act
prevents the use of misleading to and from headers in
the email. Marketers are required to include their
physical address in the email. There must be an opt
out link in every email that gives the consumer the
ability to reach the marketer and tell them they no
longer want to receive information from them. The
sender of the email must work to remove this email
address from their data base within 10 business days.
Any email that contains sexual content must be clearly
labeled and identified before the recipient opens it.
Marketers have to get permission from the consumer in
order to sell their email address.

Regulators of the internet are getting harder on
marketers who violate these laws. They are imposing
huge fines. In some cases the sender of these
marketing emails can be sentenced to jail for a
maximum of five years. The harsher regulations are to
protect the users of the internet and email services
who felt their privacy was being violated as their
email continued to be bogged down with hundreds of
solicitation emails that were randomly sent without
any target market in mind. As the use of email
marketing continues to grow, expect the regulations to
be further enforced.

materials to consumers who have requested to be

laws passed that will be in the best interest of both

practices. While most businesses do all they can to

Blog Popularity And Your Blogging Profit Plan

In recent studies by the American Life Project and The
Guardian (UK), researchers asked whether or not the
popularity of blogs today was growing in the two
countries; and if so, why? The results on the
popularity of blogs today were not exactly what most
members of the blogosphere might expect.

Researchers working on the American Life Project found
that the popularity of blogs today in terms of
readerships in the United States was absolutely
exploding; however, they also found that the amount of
blogs available was increasing slower in comparison. In
the last six months of 2004, for instance, blog readers
grew from a mere 17% of the population to a robust
37%--a significant increase. However, blog writers
only increased from 5% and 7%; and largely maintained
their homogeneous composition, which is predominantly
male, young, and wealthy. The ALP attributed this
explosion in readerships to the Presidential race,
where both candidates employed blogging in some form
to attract campaign donors.

The Guardian, which performed their study more
recently, also found similar results in the United
Kingdom on the popularity of blogs today. While they
also found that readerships had increased
dramatically, they did not find the same issue of slow
blog growth; however, they did find out that a fairly
astonishing 30% of frequent Internet users had never
even heard of a blog.

So, in which direction is the popularity of blogs
today moving?--To greater profusion or to obscurity?

Given that blogs are the best intermediary between
websites and forums, it is hard to imagine that they
will decrease in popularity; conversely, however, it
isn't hard to imagine that they will improve
significantly in continuation with how they have
changed since their inception in the mid-1990s.

In the short term, it is fairly safe to imagine that
larger blogs will experiment with video technology
while older blogs stick with easy, faster-loading
models. It is also fairly safe to assume that blog
indexing methods will continue to improve and may even
break away from the traditional algorithm method.

Planning Your Blogging Profit Plan

Planning your blogging profit plan is crucial part of
the construction of any monetized blog. But what does
it usually involve? Generally, planning your blogging
profit plan consists of two things: working on a
traffic generation plan and improving conversion
rates.

When planning your blogging profit plan, you may want
to work on the conversion side first. If you begin
sending traffic to your blog before it is monetized
properly, your conversion rates could be too low to
earn a significant return on your investment; this is
especially true if you are paying for traffic from
pay-per-click sources, such as Adwords.

One important thing you must consider when planning
your blogging profit plan is how you can improve the
quality of your copywriting. If you do not feel that
you have the expertise or writing skills to convince
someone to buy your product, you may want to hire
someone to write your salespage for you.

With the recent boom in freelancing markets, you
should be able to find a talented copywriter on

word or page. If your copy is bad, your conversion
rate will also be bad, which means you are wasting
traffic.

Additionally, you should consider including
pre-selling tactics while planning your blog profit
plan. You may want to include such pre-selling methods
as giveaways, cash prizes, or some other form of
interaction for visitors.

The other important thing to consider while planning
your blog profit plan is your traffic generation
methods. No matter what the topic of your blog, you
generally have five basic traffic generation methods:
pay-per-click programs, which allow you to pay for
targeted traffic; natural search engine traffic, which
you can build by optimizing onpage and offpage factors;
link-based traffic, which you can build by purchasing
links from link brokers; list marketing traffic, which
you can build by purchasing solo ads from list-owners;
and repeat traffic, which you can build by giving
visitors a reason to return and by persuading them to
bookmark your site.

All things being equal, you must concentrate on
traffic generation and conversion rates while planning
your blogging profit plan.

by age, gender, status, and location. Use this feature to
search and find people in your area. Click on their
profile, and if they fit your criteria, the use the “add to
friends” button. A message will be sent to them, and then
they will be able to add or deny your profile. Once you see
that they have accepted you, then post a “thank you” message
on their profile.

Proper Myspace Etiquette

When using Myspace to promote your business, you will want
to practice some etiquette. It is easy to overdo it, which
can greatly hurt your image, especially with potential
local consumers. After all, the idea is to promote your
business, not to hurt it’s image.

Spaming, or sending unsolicited messages to random users
and addresses, is strictly prohibited, and will get your
account deleted. Never send unsolicited or unwanted

for your business, is over-posting comments. The comment
system on Myspace allows you to post comments on other’s

additional contacts, provided that you follow some rules.

First, never post a comment solely about your business.
Instead, you can post a message thanking that person for
accepting your friend request, or thanking them for sending
you a friend request, whatever the case may be. The only
acceptable way you should post a comment about your
business is if the user posted a comment on your profile
first.
