“How To Use Email Marketing Properly”

Email marketing is expected to become well over a
7 BILLION dollar business this year. Half of all
consumers will communicate with email this year.
Email has surpassed regular “snail” mail in sheer
volume of mail pieces.

Anybody who wants to be a success in any online
business had better start incorporating some sort of
email marketing into their marketing plans, or get left
behind by the competition.

It is important to note that, like anything else, there is a
right and a wrong way of approaching email marketing.

“Spam”, or more properly called, unsolicited email, is
most definitely one of the wrong ways. For one, it is
highly ineffective. The people who receive spam are
usually not the least bit interested in whatever it is that
the spammer is trying to sell.

The recipients of spam will also usually be annoyed to
be receiving it, so even if they might otherwise have
been interested in the offer, they will now be turned
off by the spammer’s violation of their email inbox.

This leaves few options for getting your email message
out to enough people to be effective. If you are not
fortunate enough to have a your own email list of people
willing to receive your messages, you can send to
safelists.

Safelists can be a good place to start for someone
without their own list but, if you don’t follow some
fundamental rules, you’ll not have much success in
gaining subscribers or making sales.

It is not likely that you will be able to make a sale
from sending an email message alone. The email
message should simply be designed to peak the
readers’ interest and compel them to call you for
more information or better yet, visit your website.

I have received a huge amount of poorly written
email messages and just delete them without even
reading all the way through the message. Again,
although I might have been interested in the offer,
the turnoff of an unprofessional email compels me
to just ignore it. If the writer can’t even be bothered
to write a quality email, how likely is it that whatever
he is selling is going to be any more of a quality
product or service.

If you have what you know is a good product or
opportunity and have been sending emails to a safelist
for anymore than a month or so, and have yet to sign
up a subscriber or make a sale, or have only gotten a
miniscule response, you need to evaluate your writing
abilities and maybe look at taking a course or getting
a book on email writing.
